In the Beginning…there was NHL Hockey San Jose

This is the, for now, the earliest document I have relating to the launch of the Sharks. NHL San Jose rallied community leaders, including then mayor Tom McInery and a “live tele-conference call with Kings owner Bruce McNall.” I think that was the current way of saying “speaker phone” but I could be wrong….

    I was there at the first game at the Cow Palace.. Ex LA King Fans, sent to the Bay Area for business. Now die-hard Sharks fans. We love our Sharks… <3

    Thanks for the note. I grew up 35 miles NW of the Forum and loved the purple and gold Kings. Sounds like we mirror each other!

    How did you find this site? It’s still very raw – way too many elements – but I have a bunch more to add. I also run a site and have a bunch of cow palace stubs on there. Did you hang onto any old stuff you like to post?
